Tom Hubble taught Introductory and Engineering Geology and Rock Mechanics at the University of Sydney’s School of Geosciences from 1989 to 2025. His research work focuses on the interpretation of geological and geophysical data sets collected in marine, estuarine and riverine settings. This work has included characterization of river-bank collapse mechanisms, tree-root stabilization of soil slopes, investigation of the marine geology and submarine landslides of the south-eastern Australian continental margin to evaluate the potential for these slope failures to generate tsunami.
